- נְפִילָהf. (נָפַל) 1) falling. Sot.VIII, 6, a. e. v. נִיסָה. B. Kam.V, 7 (54b) לנְפִילַת הבור as to the laws relating to an animal falling into a pit (Ex. 21:33 sq.). Y.Ber.I, 3d top שתסמכנו מנְפִילָתֵנוּ that thou mayest support us in our downfall.Pl. נְפִילוֹת. Yalk. Esth. 1058 (ref. to Esth. 6:13) שתי נ׳ הללו למה why this double use of nafal? 2) (v. מַפּוֹלֶת) quantity of seed required for a field.
